Overview
This kit enables owners of the Delta 23-700 Universal Wet/Dry Grinder to expand the capabilities of this popular machine, by allowing one to make use of an extensive array of Tormek® jigs. This kit includes one vertical and one horizontal mount that support a Tormek Universal Support (Sold Separately, Tormek® Part No. US-105, Woodcraft Catalog #144866). A Tormek® toolpost can be used with the vertical mount to support jigs that are designed to be used with the wheel turning toward the operator. Similarly, a toolpost can be used with the horizontal mount to support jigs that are designed to be used with the wheel turning away from the operator (Figure 1).

The vertical support mounts underneath of the base of the original flat toolrest support that can be folded out of the way when the vertical support is in use (Figure 2). When you want to use the flat toolrest, you can simply remove the toolpost from the vertical mount because the mount does not interfere with the flat toolrest.
The kit contains one Vertical Mount (A), one Horizontal Mount (B), 4 Toolpost Locking Knobs (C), 4 Bolts with Flat and Lock Washers (D).

The current version of the kit may differ slightly in appearance from those in the photos; however, they will be functionally equivalent. While the kit is designed to fit the Delta 23-700, it may fit similar grinders such as the Penn State SSG or the Grizzly 1036. Make sure that your grinder has mounting holes on both ends of the water pan. These mounting holes should be threaded to accept 1/4" - 20 TPI mounting bolts and spaced 4 15/16" (12.55 cm) apart. Some pre-1996 Delta 23-700 machines only have mounting holes on one side of the water pan, so the horizontal mount will not fit on these older machines.
The black oxide coated 12mm toolpost that is included with this kit is compatible with Tormek jigs. If you wish you can also purchase the Tormek® Universal Support from another and use it with this kit as well (see Woodcraft Supply ). Use the toolpost with the vertical mount for jigs that are designed to be used with the wheel turning toward the operator. The vertical support mounts underneath of the base of the original flat toolrest support. The original flat toolrest assembly can be folded out of the way when you are using the vertical support. When you want to use the flat toolrest, you simply remove the toolpost from the vertical mount because the mount does not interfere with the flat toolrest. The horizontal mount fits on the opposite side of the grinder from the vertical mount, so you can use the toolpost in the horizontal position for jigs that require the grinding wheel to turn away from the operator.
